Family Pic

Ok, so when I blog I really BLOG. This is the last thing I have to post today I promise. We got our family pictures taken before we left for hawaii. I can never seem to get the two kids together long enough (and both happy about it) to snap a picture so its everyone or nothin'. So here is the 2008 Smith family presented to you!!!

Halloween fun

I know I am really late but here are some pictures of the kids this past halloween. We had fun going from house to house trick-or-treating. The kids had fun at the morning halloween party too. They made lots of fun treats and keepsakes to take home. Both sets of Grandparents came down to be with us. That really means a lot to Jake and I and our two munchkins. We love you guys. Look at how cute they are!!!

Go Real Salt Lake

One of our family's favorite thins is to go and attend some of the Real Salt Lake soccer games. They are so fun. We love the staduim and how it is all open. The kids love getting bundled up and playing around during the games. Jake even got Emery to boo the other team with him. It was pretty cute. We really love living here in Salt Lake and having all of these fun activities so accessible to us. Go Real Salt Lake!!

Paradise!!

Tiffany and I had such an amazing time in Maui!! It was tough to leave that paradise on earth. Thank you to Stacey, Heidi and Steve for watching the little munchkins while we were gone. The Fours Seasons was impressive to say the least. The best part however, was just relaxing with my beautiful wife in Paradise. That was much needed! Please enjoy these pictures of us at the Resort.

Crazy times! What started out as a nice relaxing day at the park playing and eating lunch, turned out to be a visit to the emergency room later. Mason, Emery and I went to Liberty Park with some friends from the ward. We were laughing, playing, eating lunch and just enjoying being outside while the weather stays bearable and Emery takes a head dive from the picnic table bench right onto the cement ground. It was AWFUL!!! She just started screaming. (Which by the way the doctor said was a good sign.) I scooped her up into my arms and went into mother mode. I checked her to assess the damage the fall had caused. She looked really beat up. She had raspberries on her for head and some blood on her nose. It was so sad. I held her to try and clam her while a friend held a cold cloth to her goose egg and 2 more friends that packed us all up, gave her some medicine and took us to the hospital. I can't believe how tough she is. Right when we arrived at the hospital she went to Jake and immediately stopped crying. She became her happy self again despite the enormous bump on her head and her mothers tears. (It seems like mothers hold it all together until the child is fine, then they release all of their thoughts, feelings, and emotions about the event. At least that is what I do.) Emery is much braver that her woosey mother. She is such a sweetheart. I just love that little girl!! I am happy to report that the doctor said he saw no real concern at that point and just to watch her. He did also comment that she was the cutest patient he had seen all day. (I thought of course, tell me something I didn't already know! :) We are all doing fine and thanks to all the help from our awesome friends.

What a cutie!

Mason and Emery are so excited to finally have a cousin. Thanks to Gordon and Amber for bringing Sophia Ann Larsen into the world. I have always wanted to be an Aunt before I became a mother. Things didn't quite work out that way, but it is so fun to have her in the family. I can't wait to see her here in the next few months. Mason the other day kept saying Sophie's name. I am not quite sure what he was saying or why but It was really cute. I know they know that she has come from heaven and to our extended family even though they have never seen her first hand. Before she was born Mason kept saying Amber's name just out-of-the-blue sometimes for no valid reason I saw. It's not like we were previously talking about them or anything. I know he knew something was going to happen. It is so amazing the spirit that little children have with them. So sweet and innocent and tender. They really are quite special.

I finally did it. This blog has been long overdue. We are so happy to be able (hopefully now) to stay in closer contact with family and friends. As far as our family goes we are all doing wonderful. Mason and Emery are growing like weeds and Jake and I are enjoying every minute of it. We love you all and hope you enjoy reading about our family.
